Frequently Asked Questions

On this page, you’ll find answers to the main questions related to using CNPJá, including information about subscriptions, payments, real-time vs. cached queries, API usage, Excel add-in, as well as security and privacy aspects.

About the Platform

What is CNPJá?

CNPJá is a platform specialized in CNPJ information queries, enabling access to data from multiple government agencies such as the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (Receita Federal), Simples Nacional, Cadastro de Contribuintes, SUFRAMA, among others. These queries can be made via web panel, API, or Excel add-in.

Where does the platform’s data come from?

The information is obtained from public sources, hosted on government domains. CNPJá only consolidates and organizes this data for easier access and is not responsible for the accuracy of the information itself. If in doubt, always refer to the official source.

How do cached queries and real-time queries work?

  • Real-time queries: performed at the time of the request, directly from public sources, consuming credits.
  • Cached queries: use CNPJá’s database, which is updated collaboratively and periodically. They do not consume credits and may contain data that is slightly outdated.

You can configure the maximum allowable data delay for your queries, choosing whether to use the cached version or to fetch updated information in real time.

Subscriptions

What types of plans are available?

We offer monthly and annual plans, each with a specific set of per-minute query limits and a credit allowance (used for real-time queries). There is also a free plan, which has a basic credit allowance and per-minute query limit. For more details on prices and the features of each plan, visit Plans and Subscriptions .

Can I have more than one subscription at the same time?

Yes. If you need more credits in a given month, you can purchase an additional plan (for example, a monthly plan) to complement your main plan. The credits and usage limits of all active subscriptions are combined. You can cancel the additional subscription at any time on your subscriptions page , preventing automatic renewal the following month.

What happens if I cancel my subscription?

You will continue to have access to your remaining credits and paid features until the end of the current billing cycle. After that, your account will revert to the free plan, and any unused credits will expire. For more details, see our Terms of Use .

Credits and Limits

How many queries can I perform per minute or per month?

Each plan defines a per-minute query limit. Summing up that limit throughout the month provides an estimate of how many queries can be performed, but it is also important to consider the credit consumption for real-time queries. For instance, the PRO plan allows 120 queries per minute, resulting in a high monthly volume, provided that sufficient credits are available. For more information, see Plans and Subscriptions .

How are credits consumed?

Each real-time data request to a source consumes credits. A simultaneous query to two sources (for example, the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service and Simples Nacional) will consume 2 credits. Cached queries do not consume credits.

What happens if I run out of credits?

You can still perform cached queries as long as you have per-minute quota available. However, if you attempt a real-time query without credits, you will receive an HTTP 429 error (via the API) or see a “Insufficient Balance” message (via the web panel).

How can I get additional credits if I need them?

Simply subscribe to a new plan for the period in which you have high demand. The credits and limits will be combined with those of your current plan. Afterwards, you can cancel this supplemental plan on your subscriptions page to avoid being charged again.

Payments

What payment methods are accepted?

  • Credit card (via PayPal)
  • PIX
  • Bank slip (Boleto bancário)
  • Bank transfer (exclusive to VIP annual plans)

Is there a refund or reversal in case of dissatisfaction?

For new subscribers, we offer the option to request a refund within 7 days of the initial subscription if you are dissatisfied with the service. In all other cases, transactions are considered final. We recommend that you use our free plan to test the platform before subscribing to a paid plan.

How does subscription renewal work?

  • Credit Card (PayPal): Renewal is automatic.
  • PIX/Boleto: A new payment slip is sent 10 to 14 days before the end of the period.

You can cancel renewal at any time in the subscriptions panel.

Cancellation and Renewal

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to your subscriptions page in the panel. You can cancel at any time. Your credits remain valid until the end of the paid billing cycle.

What happens to my credits if I cancel my subscription?

They remain available until the end of the current cycle. After that period, if the subscription is not renewed, your account will revert to the free plan, and any remaining credits will expire.

How does automatic renewal work?

For plans paid via credit card (PayPal), renewal occurs automatically on the due date. If you do not wish to renew, just cancel before the billing date.

API and Excel Add-in

How does the API work?

CNPJá provides an API for integrations, where each request may consume credits depending on whether it’s a real-time query or not. There is a per-minute query limit associated with your plan. If you exceed that limit, you will receive an HTTP 429 error.

How does the Excel add-in work?

It is a tool that allows you to retrieve CNPJ data directly in Excel. It consumes credits and adheres to the usage limits of your plan, just like queries made through the panel or the API. The add-in is provided free of charge, but queries follow the same credit consumption and limit rules.

Is there an average response time for real-time queries?

Queries are usually completed within a few seconds, but this may vary depending on the availability of public data sources. If you want to check the service status, visit our status page .

Security, Privacy, and LGPD

Is CNPJá compliant with LGPD?

Yes. The personal data we collect follows the guidelines of LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law). We also emphasize that users must comply with the law when handling third-party data obtained via CNPJá. For more details on how we handle information, see our Privacy Policy .

How is my data protected?

We maintain security procedures, including daily backups, use of firewalls, and access control protocols. In the event of any security incidents, we follow legal requirements and will notify users and the appropriate authorities if necessary.
